If the hero has a meta-static ability that modifies the start of game procedure, the number zones, or the ownership of zones, or the what cards in are placed in zones, that modification is independent of the ability during the game.

Example: Kayo, Underhanded Cheat has the text “You start the game with 1 weapon zone,” which means if that the player will go through the start of game procedure and start the game with only 1 weapon zone. During the game, even if Kayo, Underhanded Cheat loses that ability, the player will not gain a weapon zone.
