Equip Equip is a discrete effect. To equip an object, put the object into an equipment or weapon zone as a permanent and it becomes equipped to that zone.

  • cr:8.5.41aIf no zone is specified, the object may be equipped to any zone determined by its subtype.[3][2.10]
  • cr:8.5.41bAn object can only be equipped if it has one of the following subtypes: 1H, 2H, Arms, Chest, Heads, Legs, Off-Hand, or Quiver.
  • cr:8.5.41cAn object can only be equipped to a zone if the zone is empty and it is not already equipped to a zone of the same type. If a rule or effect requires an object to be equipped to two or more zones, all of those zones must be empty.
  • cr:8.5.41dIf the specified object is a token keyword,[8.6] create that token, then equip it. If the token cannot be created or equipped, the effect fails.
  • cr:8.5.41eIf an object cannot be equipped, it does not become a permanent.
  • cr:8.5.41fIf an equipped object ceases to exist, it is no longer equipped to any zones.
