If a play-static ability generates a conditional continuous effect that references the playing of its source, the effect is generated at the time the condition is met. Conditional continuous effects of play-static abilities are typically written in the format “[EFFECT]. If you do, [CONTINUOUSEFFECT],” where the replacement condition is playing the card using the proceeding effect of the play-static ability.
